Last week we took a little trip to the local apple orchard – one of my favorite fall activities! We had originally planned on going to a larger farm about an hour away from home but the forecast showed rain ALL day. With the anticipation of our plans being canceled (which they were!) I decided to pack up the kids and go to the local farm. We didn’t have much time since we got there an hour before closing but we had fun!
The best thing about these farms are the homemade donuts. OH EM GEE. I could eat like 10 in one sitting. Pumpkin spice with cream cheese frosting was to die for!! The kids also love eating the donuts and getting the small bottles of apple cider.
If you didn’t know, McKenzie is OBSESSED with cats. This farm had tons of little kittens running around that actually let you pick them up. It’s safe to say she was in heaven. She also followed this cat around the entire time we were there. š
The babies got to run free too. Cody and I had an assigned child to follow around, so we were often on opposite sides of the orchard! They are happiest when they can run their little hearts out so I didn’t mind.
We had to recreate this photo on the hay mountain since we did it last year too. Look how much they’ve grown!
We picked out our pumpkins for this year too! Who knew it could be such a serious decision for an 8 year old…
We will probably be going to the larger farm sometime in the next couple weeks because it has way more fun stuff to do for the kiddos (and more donuts for mom).
