I honestly can’t believe my babies had their SECOND birthday party. I was just telling Cody that I can’t even remember what life was like without our little twinners. He said he can remember how easy it was (LOL). Ahh, yes they may make traveling, or leaving the house in general and sleeping in more complicated but I think we’ll keep them. 😉
I had so much fun preparing for their party this year! I was searching for a cute theme and it’s hard to find one that is gender neutral. Everything is either super girly or super boyish. I finally landed on the “TWO”tti Frutti theme and I’m so happy with how it turned out!
We had the party at our house which doesn’t have natural light even on a sunny day. The day of the party was very overcast and dark so I was bumming about how the pictures were going to turn out. I did the best I could!
I bought most of the party supplies and decor from the Target dollar section and Party City. The cute lemon banner and PARTY balloons were only $5! The cake came from Sweet Baby Cakes. We had subway catered but I also made some fruit kabobs and pasta salad. I hate worrying about cooking the food, so this was much easier!
McKenzie and Kasey’s dresses are Cat and Jack from Target. I am SO into rainbows right now and thought they would be perfect for the party. Harper is wearing a dress from a local boutique and a bow from Sprispals.
HOW TO MAKE A BALLOON ARCH
Here’s the most asked question I got asked after the party… how I made the balloon arch. I blew up a bunch of different size balloons in different colors. I measured a piece of twine to the length I wanted (plus extra just in case!). I used a pen to poke holes in the tails of the balloons and pulled the twine through. I randomly put the balloons on and kind of messed around with them until I liked how it looked. I then used command hooks to put the twine and balloons onto the wall. It was SO easy but time consuming.
We set up some of their birthday presents outside so the kids could enjoy them at the party. They got a trampoline and a roller coaster! Both were huge hits. You should also read this article where we review the best 14ft trampolines for summer.
Harper and Mason had so much fun hanging out with all their cousins! That was the best part of their day, hands down. We decided to invite our immediate families only. This way it makes it easier on us, financially and mentally, and so they don’t end up with way more toys than they need.
I actually vlogged the party day – you can watch that here. I also vlogged what they got for their birthday – you can see their haul here.
Here is my favorite picture from the party, our fam bam. *heart eyes*
Don’t forget to check out the vlogs I linked above if you want a more in depth look at their party! I know it won’t be long before I’m typing their 3rd birthday party blog!!! Ahh, time slow down please.
