2018 was one of the fastest years of my life! It has also been one of the hardest for me. I’ve been through a lot of shit this year. It was hard for me to find joy in writing this post at all. I’m glad I decided to do it though because it was nice looking back on the GOOD things that actually happened. Here’s to hoping for a better 2019!
FAMILY FUN GETAWAY | APRIL
It’s not often that we take a few days with the entire family and do something fun. It April we took a little road trip to Auburn Hills, MI to visit Lego-land and Sea Life Aquarium. It was the perfect place to bring the kids and we will definitely be going back in the future. Watch the vlog from our trip HERE.
SOLO TRIP TO GEORGIA | MAY
If you didn’t know, my brother and sister-in-law live in GA – so we rarely get to see them. I decided I would take a solo trip to visit them for the weekend! It was so weird traveling alone but I kind of enjoyed it! It was nice to see my brother and his home – plus I had never been to GA before! We are planning on going back in 2019 to meet my newest nephew! Watch my trip to GA HERE!
HARPER AND MASON’S 2ND BIRTHDAY PARTY | JUNE
I probably won’t typically include every single birthday in these posts but I wanted to add this one because they had SO much fun at their party. I really enjoyed planning and decorating for the “Twotti Frutti” theme too. They got so many outdoor toys that got a lot of love over the entire summer. It was a good day! UNIVERSAL/HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS VACATION | OCTOBER
Probably my favorite part of 2018! We took a trip with my parents to Orlando, FL. We stayed at Universal Studios and visited Halloween Horror Nights! It was such a fun and relaxing trip. Even though I was really sad to leave my kids for a week, it was the perfect time to reconnect with my husband at our favorite place in the world. HALLOWEEN | OCTOBER
This is a pretty generic event but we had a really good October! This was our first year doing a family costume and I LOVED putting it together. Harper and Mason got to actually do their own trick-or-treating and it was so sweet watching them go up to peoples doors. You can watch our Halloween vlog HERE.
DETROIT LIONS GAME | NOVEMBER
Cody and I decided it was important to start doing things just for us. We have been wanting to go to a Lions game for awhile so we caved and bought some tickets! I’m so glad we did. Taking a mini road-trip, having some beers and watching some football was just what we both needed. I also vlogged this day too – watch it HERE.
MCKENZIE & KASEY TURN 10 | DECEMBER
I feel like 10 is such a milestone birthday so it obviously had to make this list! Cody asked me why I was so emotional with this birthday and I really didn’t know! The girls seem like they are getting so old and I just want to stop time right here. 10 is such a good age!
OWEN WAS BORN | DECEMBER
We got a new family member! Our nephew Owen Daniel was born just weeks ago. We have yet to meet him because he lives in GA but we are planning on making a trip there in April. I cannot wait to hold that sweet little face!
Like I said earlier, this has been a really tough year for me – mentally. I’m making it a point to take care of myself in 2019 by figuring out what I want out of life, who I am, and surrounding myself with positive people. I know this is getting kind of deep now, haha.
