Good LAWD, I can’t believe I just typed out that title. THREE!?! Their lives have flown right past me. I think that’s a common response from most parents though – the days are long but the years are short. There are no truer words!
Since I’m cheap, I like to take their milestone pictures myself. I do think I’m getting better at it as the years go on, for someone who has ZERO photography training anyways.
I packed them up and headed to a nearby park. We hiked through some wilderness and had to use a ton of bug spray to get these but it was so worth it! They were the sweetest little angels and did every pose I told them too … sike. We did end up with a few good shots though.
Mason Kenneth
aka Minna, Mason Jeffery, Brother, + Mase
He loves cars, dinosaurs, superheroes, and painting. No one warned me what it would be like to have a boy… SOOO different from all my girls. He’s wild, hyper, and a tad naughty. We like to call him Dennis the Menace. He is all those things but he is also fearless, has the cutest voice I’ve ever heard, has so much love for his sisters and will give anyone a hug. One thing he doesn’t mess around with his bugs! Any type of bug is a big nope from him.
Right now he loves watching Steve and Maggie on Youtube, singing ANY Post Malone song, and eating snacks. Favorite foods include Spaghetti-Os, corn dogs, and cereal. He falls asleep 5 minutes after laying down (like his daddy) and always wakes up with a huge smile on his face. He is so smart too. He can spell his name and Harpers, recognize all numbers and letters and his knowledge of random animals and bulldozers if off the charts. THANKS YOUTUBE!
There’s something special about being a boy mom. I don’t know if its because he’s my only boy or what but I’m so glad I was chosen to be his mama. Also.. he’s the most handsome thing I’ve ever laid my eyes on. Some girl is going to be lucky one day!!
HARPER MICHELLE
aka Angel, Sister, Sweetest, Baby, Harpie Michellie, + Harp
She loves playing school, hoarding all the baby dolls, and painting. She is the most motherly toddler I’ve ever met. She’s super shy and takes about an hour to warm up to ANYONE (if she does at all). I secretly love how needy and clingy she is since she’s technically my last baby. I’m milking it as long as I can! She is polar opposite of her twin brother but they go together perfectly – it’s a twin thing. Favorite foods are cereal, apples with peanut butter, and corn dogs.
She is so girly. Every single morning she pulls out her favorite tutu and dress and forces me to put it on her before I even step out of bed. She ALWAYS has a bow or clip to go with it too. One time we tried putting Mason’s plain grey flip flops on her and I’ve never seen her so upset. How DARE we put boy shoes on her. ALSO… terrified of bugs.
She loves watching Tarzan, Trolls, and Frozen. Her favorite princesses are Anna, Elsa, Moana and Snow White. She needs a minimum of three blankets with her in bed and has to sleep with a night light. Unlike Mason, she takes about three hours to fall asleep and comes out of the room for something 65 times. She needs to be sung “rock-a-bye baby” right when she lays down and its one of my favorite parts of the day.
We call her Angel… and that’s because she’s the cutest creature in the sea. (that line is just for Cody since no one else will get it) 😉
I got super emotional the other night thinking that we will never be able to say we have a two year old EVER again. How crazy is that?  Cody said we can say it when we get another puppy… always trying to make me feel better. 🙂 Mamas, hold on to those sweet two year olds.. it was one of my favorite years with them.
The cute small voices, the made up words or how they say things wrong. It’s all coming to an end. These are the times I’m so glad I vlog because I can always look back at our videos and hear their tiny voices again.
Having boy/girl twins is so different from the girl twins I was used to. McKenzie and Kasey have this incredible bond and attachment. They have been through the same things growth wise, personality wise and are rarely separated. Harper and Mason are sometimes on totally different levels. I can’t really put it into words. It’s just different. They already have their own rooms and are interested in different things. I know as they get older they will separate a little more each year. It’s kind of sad. I’m just enjoying how they are best friends right now because I know it won’t always be the case.
Shout out to their daddy who is obsessed with them just as much as I am. I love sending ugly pictures of our kids back and forth and roasting them together. Thank you for helping me create these beautiful little humans. We did good!!
Here are some more Harper and Mason milestones I’ve posted on the blog. Just in case you want to take a stroll down memory lane like I did:
