I have been so behind on my blogging that I thought I would post about my Mother’s Day! It was a great day during this crap quarantine. We finally said screw it, and visited our moms. It had been way too long!
What really made my decision to break the distancing, was my brother. He came up from Georgia for personal reasons on his mom’s side. He was staying with my parents. We don’t get to see him often so when we get the chance, we have to take it – even if it was only for an hour. Georgia is actually starting to open back up – salons, restaurants, etc are open there. I can’t wait for that here!
A quick update on my sister: I realize I haven’t posted about Samantha in awhile. It’s weird to make a whole blog post about her when she can actually read it. She’s doing good though. She struggles with walking (keeping steady) and her memory is pretty shot. She remembers people and things that have happened before last year. Her memory of the past year is pretty rough and she forgets day-to-day things. She will be starting therapies this week, so hopefully those things will improve.

After visiting with my mom, we went to see Cody’s mom. The kids were happy to finally be in someone else’s houses besides ours, haha!
The Cody and the kids spoiled me. I really felt the love! I woke up to Mason’s sweet face whispering “Happy Mother’s Day”. The girls wrote me cards and even made me a VIDEO!! I cried of course. I got flowers, balloons, a bracelet, my shake mixes (haha I usually ask for something practical), and Cody made me wooden flower boxes for our fence. The kids were all on their best behavior all day too which is what any mom wants, am I right?!
It was even Cody’s three day weekend – which obviously makes me happy! We’ve been getting so many house projects done too. Although I had to still paint (work) a lot this weekend, its something I enjoy doing, so I didn’t mind.

I truly have the best kids! I don’t know how I got so lucky. In typical Nicole fashion, we had to have a little photo shoot too. I know I’ll appreciate these garage door photos one day.

I hope all you mamas are hanging in there during this quarantine! I’ve actually been happier than ever lately – maybe I thrive when my family of six is always on top of each other? Ha! Hope you had the best Mother’s Day!
