We are at the fourth year!! I’ve been thinking about a “Dino-four” birthday since they were about two. I saw it on Pinterest and loved how catchy and gender neutral it was. So, it has stuck with me all these years. Harper and Mason are getting SO big! Harper is growing a lot faster than Mason but I think that’s pretty normal for boy/girl growth. They are starting to talk more “kidish” and not so “toddlerish”, if that makes sense. Speaking full sentences that actually make since, using bigger words, etc. It makes me sad because the toddler voices and words are my absolute favorite part of toddlerhood. Like why can’t Mason say “toodles” instead of tools forever?! Or Harper say, “can me go there?”. Ugh. Please stop growing kids.
We did our usual balloon number photo! This is one of my favorite traditions we’ve started with them. I’m sad we don’t have the same type of pictures for the girls from all those years.
We had the party at our house per usual. I think maybe next year we’ll switch it up and have a beach party. A change of scenery would be nice! I had this table set up by the door, so when people walked in they could sign the guest book and grab their favor bags.
I loved the idea of signing a themed book! I chose a super cute dinosaur story, obviously. It will be so nice to look back and read all the messages our guests wrote to them.
I found these favor boxes on Etsy. I thought they were adorable!! I stuffed them with more Dino-related items and candy.
Here is the gift table. I just added some of Mason’s tiny Dino’s that he already had to make it more festive!
I had this area ready for them when they opened presents.
My FAVORITE part of any party is the cake table. I did my usual balloon arch. I’m getting pretty fast at making them too! I buy all my balloons from Party City – I love the variety of things they have there. All the extra decor was from Etsy or Mason’s bedroom!
I purchased the cake from Meijer. They already had a dinosaur theme cake, so it was pretty easy. I added the candles and custom peg dolls. I painted the dolls to be wearing Harper and Mason’s outfits they were wearing that day. I think it turned out really cute!
Outside I did some simple chalk art on our fence. I also had a kids activity on our deck. They are little “dinosaur eggs” that you have to dig the dino out of. It was a hit with the kids!
Harper and Mason are lucky to have such amazing people in their lives! They had a great birthday and were very tired by the end of it! Did I mention they refuse nap time now? SWEET. I can’t believe they will be starting pre-school in the fall!! *all the tears*
Here are some more pictures from the party. We did our usual family shot too! I made everyone wear dinosaur shirts!
I also vlogged!! Get a more detailed look below:
What a cute birthday party idea!
