This year for Harper and Mason’s 7th Birthday Party we decided to do a SpongeBob Squarepants theme! We always try to choose a gender neutral theme and since they are SpongeBob obsessed, this was perfect. I’m sharing all my favorite SpongeBob decor, cakes, food and supplies!

I’m going to be transparent here and say that I didn’t go decor heavy for this party. We had it at my in-laws cottage on a lake. So I figured that was enough of a back drop to have. I mean hello… a body of water?! However, I did have an entire Amazon cart and Pinterest board for my dream party so keep reading!
First lets talk invitations…
You can find a ton of cute SpongeBob birthday party invitations on Etsy! I didn’t have invites this year because I didn’t invite a ton of people. We had immediate family and two of our friends + their kids. It was honestly just easier to send out a text with the info. BUT let me show you what I would have chosen.
This one from Small Printable Design on Etsy
or this one from Olivia Digital HD on Etsy
Next you will need Decor…
Again, Etsy and Amazon are great options while finding SpongeBob Birthday Party decorations. I didn’t have much luck at big store like Party City.

Goodie bags are always one of my favorite parts of a party. Probably because I just love gifting to other people. Heres what you can add to yours!
Here are the bags I used – SpongeBob Treat Bags
Now moving onto the food and cake…
We served “Krabby Patties” (smash burgers) with taco salad, pasta salads, chips + dips, and cheesy potatoes. You could also do “The Krusty Krab Pizza”. Keep it simple and order pizzas!
For the cake we went with our local grocery store to keep the price down. They actually had a few options for SpongeBob Birthday cakes. Once I saw the hamburger cake, I knew I had to have that one. It fit right in with the theme! Then of course the adorable SpongeBob cake too.
I couldn’t pass up the SpongeBob themed cookies too! We got these done by someone local. They were delicious and didn’t last longer than 10 minutes!
Everything else..
Like I said earlier, we had the party at our cottage. So we didn’t have any games or activities for party-goers. Instead the kids swam and even got to go tubing behind the boat! We also had chalk out and a basketball court.
I think my newly seven year olds had a blast – which is the most important part!
Here are a few more SpongeBob clothing related items you might like! Including the swim shorts my son is wearing above.
What an awesome birthday theme!! Looks like a fun party. Love the attention to detail, great job!
Thank you!
