Did anyone else not know what day to celebrate the 4th this year? Having it on a Wednesday is so weird! I guess you could say we celebrated on multiple occasions throughout the week.
A few weeks ago I had the kids do a mini photoshoot to model their Sprispals bows. I LOVED how these pictures turned out – and I’m sure you’ve already seen them plastered all over my social media. Just in case you haven’t… here they are again.
We went to Cody’s families cottage for a couple days too. We do this every year and it’s always so much fun. Their cousins were up there and they love playing with them. The people around the lake light off fireworks and they do a “ring of fire”. It looks so cool! Everyone puts red flares around the shoreline. McKenzie and Kasey spent the night at the cottage with their grandparents and cousins while Cody and I went back home with the babies. Harper and Mason don’t do well sleeping at other places just yet. So we drove back and forth for our own sanity.
On the actual 4th of July, my parents came over and we had dinner. We had plans to hang out in the backyard and let the kids play but it was SO FREAKING HOT. We couldn’t even stand to be outside for more than 10 minutes. McKenzie and Kasey ended up going across the street to their friends house for fireworks and sparklers.
I think all the kids are still recovering from the cottage festivies and fun. We can’t wait for next year!
