life with two sets of twins

easy valentine’s day snacks

February 1, 2019

January is FINALLY over (seriously longest month ever) and now it’s time to think Valentine’s Day! I don’t know about you but my kid’s classes are always looking for volunteers to bring holiday treats to their parties. I always like to help out as much as I can because teachers do too much! Bless their hearts! I’m going to share some SUPER EASY valentine’s day treats to bring to class parties, give to loved ones or just eat yourself! Keep in mind… I’m not a food blogger so my pictures are sub-par and my instructions might seem vague BUT the snacks taste delicious! 😉

HEART PEANUT BUTTER BLOSSOMS

Buy a peanut butter cookie mix. Prepare the cookies according to the instructions on the bag. I like to roll my dough balls in sugar before putting them in the oven. Take them out and pop some heart shaped chocolates in the middle.

Literally so easy and still festive!

SWEETHEART PUPPY CHOW

Ingredients:

5oz. white chocolate chips

5oz. chocolate chips

5 cups chex mix

1 cup strawberry cake mix

1/2 cup powdered sugar

One package valentine’s M&Ms

Directions:

Divide the chex mix into two bowls (2.5 cups in each bowl)

Melt the white choc. chips in microwave safe bowl. Do it in 30 sec increments so it doesn’t burn. Dump the melted chocolate in the first bowl of chex mix.

Do the same thing with the choc. chips and dump it in the other bowl of chex mix.

In a ziplock bag, mix 1/2 cup of strawberry cake mix and 1/4 cup powdered sugar. Dump into one bowl of chex mix and mix together, coating the cereal.

Repeat the same thing again and dump that bag into the other chex mix mixture.

Combine both bowls and add the bag of M&Ms

Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Get ingredients pictured. You can really choose whatever type of chocolate or sprinkles you’d like! Melt the chocolate in 30 second increments in microwave. Dip the pretzel rods into the melted chocolate and cover with sprinkles. So easy and you can make a large quantity of these in little time.

RED VELVET CAKE BALLS

Ingredients:

one box red velvet cake mix

1 cup cream cheese frosting

your choice of chocolate chips (or white choc)

sprinkles of your choice

Directions:

Make the cake according to the packaging

Crumble up the baked cake into a large bowl

Add the cream cheese and mix

Roll mixture into balls and place on a cookie sheet and into the freezer for 15 minutes

Melt the chocolate chips in 30 second increments until fully melted

Using a toothpick, dip the balls into the melted chocolate and cover completely

Top with your favorite sprinkles

I forgot to take the finished pictures of the cake balls and pretzels… I told you I suck at food blogging. My kids and husband approved of everything! I’ll most likely be making the chex mix and pretzel rods to share with McKenzie and Kasey’s classes this year. So, with nangs Melbourne in delivery you can add whipped cream to make all these desserts delicious. Let me know if you will be making one of these festive snacks for Valentine’s Day!
