The Soltrop Six

life with two sets of twins

harper & mason’s wild one

June 27, 2017

I say this every year but I never want to throw a birthday party again. I probably grew 10 grey hairs and feel like I need to book a massage to relieve some stress! I’m glad its over but it was definitely fun, especially seeing Harper and Mason so happy! I would say their first birthday was a success!

The theme I was going for was a WILD ONE birthday bash! I incorporated teepees, arrows, etc. When I first started planning it was going to be a Happy Camper’s party but it kind of switched over to the wild one the more I kept planning. Plus I used a lot of the decorations from their nursery to save on money! #momwin

The most stressful thing about the party was this damn cake. Sadly, the woman I have make all my cakes threw her back out days before the party. I was scrambling to find an equally as amazing person to make me another. Well, after interacting with some weirdos (that’s a whole other story), I just went to Sam’s Club and ordered from them. At this point it was a day before the party! They couldn’t do what I originally envisioned so, a plain cake it was. Luckily, Sprispals had already made me this amazing cake topper that gave it the extra something it needed. She also made this garland and birthday crowns!

Some other ideas I stole off Pinterest were making a back drop from three tablecloths. I actually liked how it turned out but I found out that it would have been easier to use paper tablecloths, instead of plastic. That’s why it looks like I need to go back to Kindergarten to learn how to cut in a straight line. 🙂 The other one was creating a time capsule to be opened when Harper and Mason turn 18. I told everyone to make a prediction about what Harper and Mason will be doing in 2034 or just simply write them a little note. Such a fun idea!

On that same table I had a Luhvee book out that Cody and I wrote to Harper and Mason. Luhvee books is an online story building site. You can personalize many different types of books with pictures and “finish” off the story on each page. Their website is so easy to navigate, which is an automatic A+ for me. They are generous enough to give my readers a 20% off code to use! Click this link and enter code THESOLTROPSIX at checkout.**

You guys. They SMASHED their cakes. That was probably their favorite part of the whole day. I didn’t even waste my time wiping them off… straight to the bathtub they went.

Harper and Mason are so lucky to have so many people in their life that care about them. They were definitely spoiled (mama was spoiled with all the new baby clothes too!). They even got a swing set! Swinging is their new fav.

I want to thank everyone who came to the party and made all the stress worth while. I also want to thank all the companies mentioned in this post because its the little details of the party that make it so fun!

**DISCLAIMER: Only one coupon code is redeemable per transaction and can only be used once per customer. The offer will expire 12/31/2017. Cannot be combined with any other offers.
