The Soltrop Six

life with two sets of twins

looking back on 2016

December 26, 2016

2016 has been a year for the books in our family. We have had so much fun and excitement I can only hope 2017 will do us the same. If you want to see some of our favorite moments from the past year then continue reading… ๐Ÿ™‚

FAMILY MATERNITY SESSION | APRIL
I had been planning outfits for months before this photo shoot. I was feeling very large and I wasn’t happy with how I looked in anything. I finally found this beautiful maternity dress from Pinkblush Maternity. I was very happy with how the pictures turned out. These have to be some of my favorite pictures of McKenzie and Kasey ever. Are they not perfect?? I have to note that I really miss my huge belly and those sweet baby kicks. ๐Ÿ™

OUR FIRST NIECE WAS BORN | APRIL
Cody’s brother and sister-in-law welcomed their baby girl into the world at the end of April, making her our first niece. Her name is Alixandra and she is so adorable. I’m glad that Mason and Harper will have cousins so close in age. We can’t wait to watch them all running around together!

MY TWO PEAS IN A POD BABY SHOWER | MAY
Clearly this theme is very fitting for me. ๐Ÿ™‚ My family did an awesome job of decorating, making food and making sure I had a great time. Mason and Harper were VERY spoiled and received everything they needed plus more.

MASON AND HARPER | JUNE
Do I really even need to write an explanation? This was one of the best days in my life.

BOYS II MEN CONCERT | AUGUST
If you know me then you HAVE to know that Boys II Men has always been a favorite of mine. Actually, I think the Boys II Men greatest hits CD was one of the first things Cody ever bought me. I had never seen them live until this year and it was amazing. At one point I was literally an arms length away from Wanya!!

MICHIGAN’S ADVENTURE | SEPTEMBER
We took McKenzie and Kasey to MA because they love roller coasters and rides just as much as Cody and I do. They are not afraid of anything, which is what makes it so fun. I made it a point to take them because they needed some alone time with us without the babies. We all had a great day and I CAN’T WAIT to bring them to Disney/Universal this coming year! ๐Ÿ™‚

BACHELORETTE PARTY | OCTOBER
One of my best friends had her bachelorette party and it was MUCH needed for me. This was the first time I got to let loose with my girls since having Harper and Mason. SO much fun and bonus is that we all got to wear our PJs. ๐Ÿ™‚

OUR SECOND NIECE WAS BORN | DECEMBER
My sister had her baby girl on December 5th and I was there to witness the whole thing. It was incredible and I will never forget that day. Welcome Brielle Nicole ๐Ÿ™‚ Watch her birth vlog here.

So as you can see, we had quite the year. We feel so blessed and thankful for everyone and everything. I can’t wait to see what will happen these next 12 months. HAPPY NEW YEAR FRIENDS!!!
