life with two sets of twins

twin bath routine with tubby todd

July 20, 2017

One of the most stressful parts of the night for me is bath time! Doing anything with twins can be a challenge but when it involves the possibility of your child drowning it becomes even more so. šŸ˜‰ On the nights when my husband is home with us, we have a bath routine locked down. When its only me… things can get messy. I thought I would share how I manage bath time with twins and some of our favorite products!

I usually only give baths in the evening because I think it really calms them down and gets them relaxed before bedtime. We choose to do it every other day, after dinner time. I like to save the really messy dinners (spaghetti!) for bath nights. Anyone else do this?

After they’re done eating I leave one baby safe and sound in their high chair. I undress the other and put them in the bath tub. The bathroom is down the hallway from the kitchen so I have a clear view of the baby in the highchair. Usually by this time, the child waiting starts freaking out and I have to listen to crying the entire time. So, I’ll usually sing the ā€œI love youā€ Barney song REALLY loud. This buys me at least 1 minute of silence before I have to sing it all over again.

Once they are squeaky clean, I wrestle around with them in order to get PJs on. Does anyone else think this is the most annoying thing in the world?! AH it drives me insane! Why don’t these one year olds just know howĀ to sit still?? šŸ˜‰ Next, the clean baby goes into the playpen and I get to start the routine all over again.

One thing I don’t have to worry about during bath time is the soap we use! Have you ever read the ingredients on your shampoo or body wash bottles? Um, can you say scary! I recently discovered Tubby Todd and they created all natural products for littles. They even have an ingredient list right on their site. We are using the hair and body wash and it smells heavenly! I love that you only need to squirt a tiny bit of product to get a bunch of soapy lather. They have so many other great products too. Make sure you check out their website.

Here are more of our favorite items we like to keep in the bathtub. This whale faucet cover has saved us from bumps on the head. TheseĀ stackable bath buckets are always funĀ (no mold!). This bucket is awesome at keeping water out of their faces. This is a must for your knees! Lastly, these are the best baby towels because they aren’t super thin like most.

Having twins can be so exhausting, especially when you have to do EVERYTHING twice. I’m just thankful McKenzie and Kasey are old enough to take their own showers because four baths sounds really awful. If you have any other favorite bath toys or products, leave them in the comments below. I’d love to hear them!
