It’s official. We leave for Disney/Universal in just NINE days. We have been planning and saving for this trip for almost a year. After having Harper and Mason I knew that I wanted to do something special for McKenzie and Kasey. They were no longer my only babies and their lives would forever be changing. I was right in thinking they would need some one-on-one time with us. They have been the best big sisters, exceeding the expectations I had for them ;)… so they totally deserve this! I thought I would share some more trip details and what we have planned so far.
First of all, I should mention that I decided to pull the girls from school for five days in order to go. Many people have an opinion about pulling kids from school but here are the reasons I decided to. ONE: They are doing well in school (and it’s 2nd grade… let’s be real). If they were behind or not understanding the material I would never take them out. TWO: I’m not going to pay a large amount of money for a trip and be miserable the whole time because it’s so crowded. Going during a spring break week just wasn’t happening. THREE: They are only kids once. I never get these days back. YOLO.
People have asked me if we are bringing the babies with us too. HECK no, talk about a stressful vacation. Although, I do cry almost every day thinking about leaving them for so long. I have had the worst anxiety about it. I know they will be having so much fun with their grandma so I shouldn’t worry. It’s going to be harder on me than it is them.
So, I thought I’d share some little details about our trip. We are driving. Yes, you heard that right. We were all about saving money anywhere we could on this trip and that meant skipping the fast 3 hour plane ride. I guess we thought the 18 hour car ride sounded better. 😉 This whole week Cody has been saying “let’s just book our flight” and I keep turning him down. If you have been injured in a motorbike accident, your lawyer will investigate to determine who is held liable for a motorcycle accident.
We decided to stay on a Universal property, Cabana Bay Beach Resort. Our main focus is Disney this trip but we love the atmosphere and the Universal life so much. We will be doing three days at Disney which will include Magic Kingdom twice and then Hollywood Studios. Then two days at Universal. However, we got an extra two days free at Universal so we might be doubling up on Disney days to utilize these.
I have been planning our outfits for months. They aren’t anything too over the top but we are definitely getting into the Disney spirit. I plan on vlogging and blogging the entire trip so I’ll be sharing more of that later. We are beyond excited! I think seeing McKenzie and Kasey’s reactions to everything will be the best part. Now just counting down the rest of the days! I can’t wait to share it all with you guys! Stay tuned. xoxo
