Well after an exhausting night at the E.R., we got back to our resort around 2:00 AM. I couldn’t sleep at all. I felt so bad for Kasey and thought our last two days at the parks were going to be horrible. No fast rides and no water… our vacation literally only involved those two things. Luckily, I was wrong.
We obviously slept in because we went to bed so late. We missed the Magic Kingdom morning show AGAIN. Maybe one day I’ll get to see it :). McKenzie and Kasey wore adorable Moana outfits with handmade shorts and bows by Sprispals. Kasey accessorized with her huge brown splint ;-). I rocked my favorite Rapunzel ears (and got so many compliments on them!) and a perfect Lularoe Carly dress.
We headed into Magic Kingdom and did our three fast passes: Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, and The Voyage of the Little Mermaid. This might make me a terrible mother but I let Kasey ride all the rides. I did avoid the super fast jerky ones like Space Mountain though. Before getting on Splash Mountain, we just wrapped the cast up in a poncho and called it good. Cody or I sat next to her on every ride to make sure we held onto her arm. It all worked out and I was so glad she didn’t have to miss out on anything.
She did start complaining that her arm was getting hot and itchy about an hour into the park. Poor girl. She toughed it out and had an awesome time! We actually got some family pictures in front of the castle. I think its impossible to get a decent picture without a million other people in it?
So, like every other day we took a mid-day break. This is when we typically lay out by the pool and the girls spent hours on the water slide. My idea was to wrap Kasey’s arm really good in a poncho and have her stay in the lazy river with her arm propped up on the tube. She was sad she couldn’t do the water slide but hey, at least she could be in the water. It worked out well! She even used the tube in the big pool and just kept her arm out of the water.
I am going to combine our last day into the post as well because I didn’t take many pictures on either of these days. Our very last park day was spent at Universal Studios again. The girls wore their Hogwarts t-shirts and Cody wore his deathly hallows shirt. I decided to scrub it out this day. 🙂
As always Harry Potter was our main priority. Universal has more fast/jerky rides than Disney so Kasey had to sit out a few times. Good thing her Grandma doesn’t like those types of rides either. They got to relax and drink slushies.
We enjoyed getting to see the Spongebob gang and riding E.T., one of our favorite classic rides. One of my favorite things about the day was finally getting to eat at Toothsomes! I’ve been looking forward to trying it since it was built. The characters, the decor, the FOOD… it was amazing. It will be a “must do” every time we go back now.
Sadly, we had to go back to our resort and pack up because we were leaving to go home in the morning. I was DREADING the 20 hour drive back to Michigan. My husband is a freakin’ champ because he drove almost the whole way. I fell asleep in Kentucky and woke up to see our hometown! Gosh, I love him.
The best feeling ever was walking in our house to see the cutest little babies. I missed them so hard and vowed to never leave them again. Well, here I am over a month later and already dreaming of our next vacation. 😉
I hope you enjoyed reading/watching about our Disney vacation! We had a blast and I loved sharing it with all of you.
