life with two sets of twins

road-trip essentials for kids

This is a bittersweet post. We leave for Georgia in just a couple days for spring break – YAY! We’re going to visit my brother, sister in law and my baby nephew, whom we’ve had yet to meet. So that’s very exciting! The “bitter” part of it all is that we are driving. Michigan to Georgia. 12+ hours. With TWO toddlers. The girls are coming too but they do so well on road-trips we hardly even notice they’re there!

I’m veryyyyy excited to be spending spring break in Georgia visiting family BUT the drive is probably going to kill me. So, that means its important to be prepared and pack everything and anything that will entertain my four littles babes. I wanted to share what has worked for us on other road-trips and what I’m packing this time around. If you have been injured in a car accident, make sure that you hire a firm with a great reputation like Hensley Legal Group in Indiana that actually takes cases to trial.

The #1 thing on my list is a portable DVD player, if your vehicle doesn’t already have that built in. Movies can really break up a long car ride! TIP: Instead of bringing a bunch of DVD cases, put all the movies you want in a CD case so it takes up less room.

Here are some other things I’m bringing for the loooooooong drive:

TODDLERS

This will be the first time I’m using the car seat tables. They seem amazing so hopefully they work well for us! Obviously a tablet is the #1 child entertainer but Harper and Mason don’t have one! I didn’t want to buy two tablets just for this trip… I’m sure I’ll be regretting that decision later. If you don’t have a tablet – it might be a good idea to download some kid apps on your phone to let them play!

Peg People

Amazon Fire Kids Tablet

Sticker Book

Car Seat Table

Water Wow

VTech Laptop

Boogie Boards

Water Fidget Toy

Magnetic Maze

OLDER KIDS

Well this list is short and pretty obvious! My ten year olds can pretty much keep themselves entertained. I’m sure we will be getting the typical “are we there yet?” question a million times but other than that.. easy peasy.

Road Trip Book

Tablet

Bingo Game

Colored Pencils

Adult Coloring Book

Headphones

Magazine
