These horror movie costumes I’m about to share are probably my favorite costumes to date! Especially the little Pennywise costume – ADORABLE and spooky at the same time! We are big time scary movie lovers so it was fun to dress up as some of the classics. Please note, my son has never watched any of these movies (haha), he just liked the idea of a scary clown.
Horror movie costumes are a good idea because you can pretty much find them at any Halloween store. They are classics after all! Keep scrolling to find out where I got all the pieces to make these epic costumes.

Let’s start off strong with the Pennywise costume for kids!
There are a lot of different Pennywise costumes for kids out there but this one was my favorite. I loved the gold sheen to it. For the wig, I had to paint the “forehead” portion white so it matched his face better. For the face I just used the typical halloween face paint kits, along with some eyeliner and lipstick.
We got SO many compliments on his costume! When he had his class party and during trick or treating we tied the red balloons behind his back so he didn’t have to carry them. It was a big hit with everyone!
Literally obsessed. Okay let’s move on..
Ghostface and Michael Myers Costumes for Adults
Like I said, we are big horror movie lovers. We also go to Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando every year – so it was fun to dress up as some of our favorites! These costumes are super simple to put together.
Couples that scare together, stay together – amiright?! 😉
If you can’t tell we had a lot of fun with this photoshoot!
If you want to do a bigger family than just 3, you could add even more horror movie costumes! Some good ideas are Freddy Kruger, Jason Voorhees, Chucky, Jigsaw, The Purge, The Strangers, & more!!
