This is probably going to be the first post of many about Harper and Mason turning one. I just can’t help but reminisce about their first year of life. These are my last little babies and I’m going to cherish every single memory since last June. Here are 12 months of Harper and Mason:
m & h are nine months
Gosh, I’m the worst at doing baby updates. Mason and Harper are nearly ten months old now (oops). I was just re-reading my six month update on them and I can’t believe how much they have changed in just three short months. I keep wishing and praying that time would slow down, especially since these are our last babies. I tear up just thinking about it!
m & h are six months
SIX MONTHS. HALF A YEAR. Yep, Harper and Mason are (well since I’m late posting their update 😉 ) now over six months old. That seems like pure craziness to me. Shouldn’t I still be swaddling my newborns? Weren’t we just putting them in the car seats for the first time and carrying them out of the hospital? Oh no, cue all the ugly mama bear tears. It goes by WAY to fast. Okay, I won’t get too emotional here. Lets move on before I wake them up from their naps just to hold them tight…
m & h are three months
12 weeks old… say what!? I think I’ll probably say this in every milestone post but I can’t believe how fast their first year is going. They went from sleeping all day to babbling, smiling, and laughing in a matter of months. I love how awake and alert they are becoming. I still miss all the naps, don’t get me wrong ;). They both are still eating between 4-5 oz. every three hours. Their night schedule has been amazing. They usually fall asleep around 8pm. I stay awake until 11pm to get in one more feeding for them. During this feeding they usually stay asleep and I put them in the bedroom. They stay sleeping until 6:30-7am. I can’t complain! I think they are both starting to teethe… did this happen to anybody else’s baby at three months? It seems so early but they are drooling, whining and putting their hands in their mouths. So I broke out the teethers which they don’t know how to put in their mouth.
one year later
Well.. we did it! We survived our first year of marriage. Every one always says that the first year is the hardest. That might be the case for couples who have not already been together for awhile or are experiencing living together for the first time but it wasn’t for us. Cody and I had been together for six years prior to getting married and had bunked up together the whole time. So really, getting married didn’t change much. Our first year was a great one!
