As much as I was dreading the drive from Michigan to Florida I was so happy the day was finally here! I didn’t do much research about the drive because we were leaving at night and didn’t plan on stopping anywhere, except to use the restroom and eat. There was no time to add in other stops, even though I really wanted to roam around Nashville and Atlanta. Looking back now, I would probably make the drive again. If you asked me that during the trip, I would have said HELL NAH.
ta-ta for now
If you can’t read this adorable sign it says “going to Florda now bye.” — Kasey 🙂
Well, this is it. All the countdowns, planning, anxiety (mostly due to leaving my babies), and excitement has lead us up to this day. The day we leave for DISNEY! Cody and I have wanted to take McKenzie and Kasey to Disney since they were very young. We decided to wait until they were tall enough to ride everything and remember the trip forever. Eight years old just seemed like the perfect age I guess.
we’re going to disney!
It’s official. We leave for Disney/Universal in just NINE days. We have been planning and saving for this trip for almost a year. After having Harper and Mason I knew that I wanted to do something special for McKenzie and Kasey. They were no longer my only babies and their lives would forever be changing. I was right in thinking they would need some one-on-one time with us. They have been the best big sisters, exceeding the expectations I had for them ;)… so they totally deserve this! I thought I would share some more trip details and what we have planned so far.
our family vacation from hell
This past weekend, Cody had some extra time off work so we thought it would be a good idea to head up north and visit Mackinac Island. I use to LOVE going to Mackinac with my grandparents when I was a child and Cody had never been, so it sounded like the place to go. If you watched my latest Youtube video, you saw that I was packing for this trip like crazy. I figured it would be freezing since it is late October and the Upper Peninsula is usually colder, well I was wrong. It was so warm that at one point. McKenzie and Kasey were walking around in their tank tops. Well despite the perfect weather we had, this trip will go down as OUR TRIP FROM HELL. Would you like to know why? Well take a gander at exhibit A…..
binder park zoo
I want to start by saying that traveling around with four kids is no joke, even if the destination is only an hour away. My family and I planned to spend the day at Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek, Michigan. We wanted to leave early around 8am (yes that is early to me!) so I had to wake the family up around 6:00am. Do you know how bad it sucks waking SLEEPING BABIES!! Ugh, but it had to be done in order for them to get a bottle and changed before we left. I packed everything the night before so we could avoid any delays the next day but I still found myself packing everything in sight in the morning. Are two cans of formula really necessary for a day trip? I think not, but what happened if I dropped one and spilled it all over the place? Do you think they’ll need six blankets on a slightly warm summer day? Ha, better safe than sorry when it comes to newborn needs! Alas, we were all out the door at 8:10… and on our way to Starbucks. Moms have needs too. 🙂
