*This post was written in collaboration with Erin Condren. As always, the thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting this blog.
One thing I’ve learned about myself from 2018 is that I’m a goal setter and planner. I thrive when I have a list, my planner and what I want to achieve written down. I lost 22 pounds last year, hit many milestones in my blogging and vlogging career, and really discovered who I was. I believe I owe all that to planning, as crazy as it sounds. I thought of what I wanted and I went after it. It seems like a simple thought but if you’re not willing to put the work in, nothing is going to change. I want to carry this motivation into 2019 but make it even more intentional.
Intention means living a life of PURPOSE.
Using my Erin Condren Life Planner every day reminds me of my purpose and helps me to reach the goals I’ve set for myself. I not only keep track of my large goals…
- like losing weight
- gaining X amount of subscribers on YouTube
- spending more alone time with my husband
- upgrading the kids bedrooms
I also keep track of my micro-goals. Basically what I can do to reach my large goals…
- running one mile every day
- posting more INTENTIONAL videos
- planning a date night once a month
- pinning design inspo on Pinterest
This allows me to have a visual of what I want and how I’m going to achieve it. Checking off goals is such an amazing feeling! I know I’m going to be doing a lot of “checking off” this year and it excites me!
Another way to be intentional is sending hand written letters. I’ve always LOVED receiving snail mail – getting Christmas cards probably excites me more than it should, haha! I want to spread that love around. I want to send birthday cards to my friends, mail my grandma random letters and really take the time to personalize everything I do. Yeah, its easier to send a text or email to your friend, thanking them for the Starbucks gift card but wouldn’t it be a nice surprise for them to open their mailbox and see a beautiful card? I know I would appreciate that gesture so much!
Erin Condren makes it easy to keep your stationary personable and cute! I love the Oh Joy collaboration design because it matches my Life Planner. This brand has the tools you need to help you live a more intentional life – so utilize them!
Some things you can find on the website are personalized notepads, box of greeting cards, personalized note cards with envelopes, dual tip markers, and much more!
Going back to goal setting… every week I know there are small things I can do to help me achieve what I want. I like to use the Erin Condren desk pad to write down what I have going on for the week. I use this to scribble on, write notes, and whatever else comes to mind. I make it messy because I usually like to keep my planner nice and neat. On the desk pad, I check off how many glasses of water I have drank for the day, the workout I want to do, what videos I want to film, what pictures I want to take, etc. Literally everything! Scribble it all down and don’t be afraid of making changes. At the end of the week, whatever I didn’t accomplish will carry on to the next week. This sits right on my counter so my husband can reference what we have going on, if need be.
I swear, making a plan at the beginning of each week will help you SO much. Even if it’s just certain rooms you want to clean that week or what you want to plan for dinners. Write it down! Be intentional. You will see the benefits, I promise.
