Another year has come to pass. I just can’t believe it. It seems like the more kids you have, the faster the days go by. Anyone else feel like that? 2015 and 2016 were epic years for me, so honestly 2017 didn’t stand a chance but we did have some awesome moments. I’m going to recap the highlights of our past year.
LOSING WEIGHT | JANUARY
I have never actually “lost” weight. Ever since high school, I’ve seemed to only go up *insert crying emoji*! Well in January of 2017, I told myself that I was going to really give it a shot. I was the heaviest I had ever been in my life so I had a ton of motivation. I ran at least a mile every single day on the treadmill, I drank a crap ton of water, and I watched what I ate. I didn’t go on some crazy diet – I pretty much ate everything I wanted just smaller portions. From January to April I lost 23 pounds. I actually LOST weight and I was really proud of myself. My husband lost almost 30 pounds too! Towards the end of the year we kind of gave up so we really want to start this back up for the new year!
OUR DISNEY VACATION | APRIL
This was a HUGE motivating factor when we were losing weight. In April, we had a Disney World and Universal Studios trip planned. This was McKenzie and Kasey’s first time! We had saved for years and the day was finally here! We drove from Michigan to Florida (which was an experience in itself) and had the best week ever. I mean, Kasey broke her arm at Universal but hey… it will make for a cool story when she’s older. 😉 I vlogged and blogged the entire trip, so we can look back on those memories forever.

HARPER AND MASON’S FIRST BIRTHDAY | JUNE
Ahhh.. my little babes turned one. The first birthday is always the most important birthday so I felt like it belonged on this list. We had a “Wild One” themed party and it was a ton of fun! I loved planning and picking out all the special details. I’m still obsessed with those birthday crowns!
ONE YEAR BLOG & YOUTUBE ANNIVERSARY | AUGUST
This blog and my YouTube channel have become my babies. I truly enjoy sharing our life with you guys. I’ve loved getting to know other mamas across the country and following their journey’s as well. I started these outlets with 0 readers/viewers and to see how much they have grown in one year was incredible. I hope to be doing this for a long time!
CODY’S VASECTOMY | OCTOBER
Although, this may be Cody’s worst moment of the year it is definitely one to add to the list! We chose to complete our family and say NO MORE BABIES! WOO-HOO! We are both very very happy with our decision and don’t think we will ever regret it. 🙂
FAMILY PHOTO SESSION | NOVEMBER
Finally, our fall family photo session! I wanted to add this because these pictures are our first as a complete family. We had maternity family photos last year but obviously Harper and Mason weren’t really in them. I loved how they turned out and we will cherish them forever!
Like I said, 2017 couldn’t even compare to the past couple years because obviously weddings and new babies top errrrthang. 😉 BUT our first family Disney trip is right up there with them. Here’s to hoping 2018 brings us lots of fun and happiness! CHEERS!
