I’m honestly sitting here staring at my computer screen, thinking of the right words to describe my feelings. The best ones coming to mind are HOLY. SHIT. I cannot believe I’m writing Harper and Mason’s one year update. This had to be the fastest year of my life! Since Cody and I don’t plan on having anymore kids, its really an emotional feeling. I will never again feel tiny baby kicks in my belly or feel the intense (but SO amazing) rush of emotions when you hold your baby for the first time. Those are such special feelings that you don’t know exist until you’re in that moment. I’m so blessed to be able to have four amazing babes but ahhh… it’s a sad feeling when your tiny littles grow up. Shoot, I think I cried when they moved out of newborn size clothing! ๐ So, here we are… Harper and Mason are done with their first year of life.
I know, I’m acting like they are going off to college or something. Let me wipe away my tears so we can get on with this update! So much has happened since their nine month update. Lets start with Mason…
My little guy is such a special light in my life. He is so incredibly sweet. He has the most amazing bright blue eyes and the cutest smile. People like to refer to him as a “flirt”, and I would say that title fits him perfectly. If you remember, Mason was a super fast army crawler. He has now moved up to a knee crawler and is still lightening fast. He is standing up on his own and is taking 2-3 steps on his own. Full blown walking has to be any day now. He loves eating pretty much anything I give him. He can say mama, dada, TT (sissy), buh-bye, and hi.
He is weighing in at 21.4 lbs and is 30 inches tall. He loves dancing to music and playing “I’m gunna get you!”. He hates snuggling or being contained in a small area. ๐
Harpie has transitioned from the sweetest little angel to naughty little angel. Her tiny personality is hilarious! She has so much attitude already. She loves to throw herself on the floor and wait for someone to respond with “oh no!” or “poor baby!”. She will pretend to bite you and loves when you say “ow!”. Basically she’s a drama queen and probably gets it from me. ๐ Harper is crawling and standing up on her own. No steps yet! Her favorite thing to do is to get on her knees with her hands in the air and dance. She can say da (which is dog), get (which she only says to the dog), dada, mama, and buh-bye.
She continues to out grow her brother! Weighing 22.10 lbs and she’s 31.5 inches tall. My favorite thing about Harper is that she loves to cuddle… its the best ever.
Both of them sleep excellent! They usually go to bed around 6:30pm-7:00pm. Sometimes they wake up for a bottle around 11:00pm. I usually hear them waking up between 7:00am-7:30am. I LOVE it. Don’t worry new mamas, one day you will get to sleep again too. I know the pain and exhaustion of the early months! ๐ This month has probably been my favorite because they really understand things and are more fun to interact with.
I’m going to mention that the lack of pictures is 100% because these children DO NOT sit still. Ever. So until I get some professional pictures done, these will have to suffice. ๐
