We may still be in “lockdown” but that didn’t stop us from having a great Memorial Day weekend. We actually had no plans initially. Cody worked every night but we still found time to hang out with our families.
My brother and sister-in-law drove up from Georgia on Thursday. They stayed at my parents house so we spent a lot of time over there. We’ve been taking family walks there often now that the weather is nice again. They only live 1.5 miles away so it’s nice to get that 3 mile exercise in! We also babysat my little nephew Owen for a bit on Friday while they attended a funeral. I loved getting that one on one time with him since we really only see him once a year. It seems like we’ve seen him quite a bit this year though, just for sad circumstances.
We hiked over to my parents on Saturday too. They had all seven of their grandkids there… which makes it not so relaxing for them, I’m sure, but its so nice having them all together. Sunday they hosted a cook-out too. We said our goodbyes to my brother and his family because they were heading back to Georgia the next day.
Monday we had our first cottage day! We spent the day with Cody’s family but at their newly remodeled cottage. Wow you guys, it looks amazing!!! Cody’s sister designed it and Cody’s dad built it all. I cannot wait to spend our summer up there! The kids always have a blast. I think we all got a little sunburnt!
I’ve also painted A TON this weekend. I had so many orders I wanted to get out by today. I’m exhausted to say the least.
