12 weeks old… say what!? I think I’ll probably say this in every milestone post but I can’t believe how fast their first year is going. They went from sleeping all day to babbling, smiling, and laughing in a matter of months. I love how awake and alert they are becoming. I still miss all the naps, don’t get me wrong ;). They both are still eating between 4-5 oz. every three hours. Their night schedule has been amazing. They usually fall asleep around 8pm. I stay awake until 11pm to get in one more feeding for them. During this feeding they usually stay asleep and I put them in the bedroom. They stay sleeping until 6:30-7am. I can’t complain! I think they are both starting to teethe… did this happen to anybody else’s baby at three months? It seems so early but they are drooling, whining and putting their hands in their mouths. So I broke out the teethers which they don’t know how to put in their mouth.
one year later
Well.. we did it! We survived our first year of marriage. Every one always says that the first year is the hardest. That might be the case for couples who have not already been together for awhile or are experiencing living together for the first time but it wasn’t for us. Cody and I had been together for six years prior to getting married and had bunked up together the whole time. So really, getting married didn’t change much. Our first year was a great one!
friday favorites | baby wearing
Hey ya’ll!
I always have the urge to say that but I feel like it’s not allowed unless you’re from the south? Like it’s an unwritten rule or something. Whatevs. I had meant to write another blog post this week but it got past me somehow. When my husband has his days off right in the middle of the week it seems as if the days fly by. Anyways, it’s Friday once again! I have been loving on my babies and helping my oldest two with what seems like an endless amount of homework. I’m sorry but I think homework every night for a second grader is a little extreme. Especially if they are a part of any other groups/sports outside of school. I’ll just end that rant right here because I could go on and on… 🙂
Here are some of my Friday Favorites for this week:
friday favorites | the mamaroo
Happy Fri-yay! As a wife of someone who works almost every weekend, Friday doesn’t bring that much excitement. Although now I get to sleep in a smidge longer since I don’t have to wake up the girls for school. Does that really make up for all the middle of the night feedings? Nope. This week we have been working on getting back into a routine. McKenzie and Kasey are tired, I’m tired, the babies are NEVER tired.. ya know how that goes.
being the “okay” mom
I think moms have mixed emotions about the first day back to school. It’s either the most gloriest (is that even a word?) of days or the saddest. This year I am a pretty good mixture of both. Now that my grocery bill will significantly go down and I won’t have to break up 12 girl fights a day, I’m pretty happy. On the other hand, McKenzie and Kasey help me out a lot with the new babies. They know when to put their pacifiers back in or even calm them down by singing! 🙂 I need my helpers!!!
