I hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day, Galentine’s Day, or whatever else you celebrated this week. I thought I would recap our holiday since I haven’t posted on here in SO long. My family has been slowly working through all the viruses going around, with me getting hit the worse. When mom is sick, the house goes to shambles. I’m slowly trying to pick up the pieces around here so my blogs and vlogs have been slacking.
As long as I can remember my parents have always had a small gift for us on Valentine’s morning. I decided to continue that tradition with my kids because truly, they are my forever valentines. 🙂 I usually get a cute PJ set, books, a movie, a small doll, or other small trinkets. Of course candy is always thrown in there too. Since the babies are so little still, I could have easily gotten away with not getting them anything but after McKenzie and Kasey asked me why Santa didn’t get the babies anything in their stockings, I’ve felt guilty. That darn Santa was just trying to save some money. So really, the gifts Mason and Harper receive are for their siblings pleasure.
McKenzie had a class party in the morning. We played bingo and the kids passed out their valentines. It was so sweet :). Although, I could never be an elementary teacher. The sound of 26 kids running around yelling drove me insane and I was only there for an hour. Kasey’s class didn’t have a “parent” party but they still did some fun activities. They were both very excited to get home and start eating all their treats.
Cody and I got each other the exact SAME thing this year, these Yeti tumblers. Clearly we are practical gift givers. He did bring home some flowers for me. If you want to hear about his funny flower buying experience then head to my Facebook!
What I was really looking forward to on this day was our dinner! Cody and I have been trying to lose weight for the last five weeks (we’ve lost a total of 25lbs between us!!) so we haven’t had ANY fast food. Seriously. Usually we would eat out once a week. We’ve been trying to only eat out on special occasions and we thought Valentine’s Day is a good time. We ordered Buffalo Wild Wings to go and watched a scary movie. It was so yummy but we definitely weren’t feeling the greatest after eating.
I hope you all had a fun day and got to enjoy time with your loved ones!
