The Soltrop Six

life with two sets of twins

August 25, 2018

busy week before school

Whew, this week we have been super busy! Every day we have had something going on, which isn’t what we are used to. I made sure to take some pictures to document all the fun we had this week.

Sunday

Cody’s family had a little get-together with family that we don’t get to see very often. His grandma and aunt from his mom’s side and his aunt and uncle from his dad’s side were all here. It was nice getting to see everyone. We had some yummy food and the kids went swimming. I made sure to get some family pictures because we don’t have many with Cody’s family.

These are Cody’s parents with all their grandkids.

Here is our entire immediate family on the Holtrop side.

Monday

On Monday we went school clothes/supplies shopping with my mom. We went to the outlet malls and spent almost the entire day there! The girls were troopers and barely complained. They picked out their backpacks and tried on lots and lots of clothes! After shopping, they had their very first cheer practice of the season!

Tuesday

On this day I filmed our back to school haul vlog (which you can watch here). It’s really time consuming to film, edit, link products, do the YouTube aspect and upload! After all that, I went to visit my friend who recently had a baby girl! We hung out at her house for an hour and caught up. From there I headed to my book club meeting! We met at The Old Goat to eat, drink, chat and be nerdy. My fav things! We chose to read The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah this month. Has anyone read it?

Wednesday

I spent the morning cleaning the house – ugh. I did our grocery shopping and then came home to get the girls ready for their school open house. This is always such an exciting day for them. We met their teachers, took school pictures, decorated their lockers and got their desks all set up!

Thursday

We are members of John Ball Zoo and they were having a “members night”! Whenever we go to the zoo I feel like it’s tradition to eat at Mr. Burger (a local burger joint). Cody and I are both trying to lose weight – I’m DOWN 22 LBS! – so we only eat out once a month, we scheduled this as our monthly cheat meal outing! We planned this weeks in advance and I was dying to finally eat a juicy burger. It didn’t disappoint!

We made sure the girls had a chance to go zip-lining as well! They have been talking about doing it all summer so I thought it was an appropriate ending to their break. They LOVED it!

Friday

In the morning we met up with my friend for a play date. The kids had a fun time at the park and it definitely wore them out for nap time! McKenzie and Kasey left for their dads house until Sunday 🙁 and I spent the evening working Shipt!

Saturday

It was a super gloomy/rainy day – which I LOVE. I spent the morning picking up the house and hanging out with Harp and Mase. When Cody woke up we went to Target because I needed to grab a few things and the babies desperately needed to get out of the house. I ended up buying this *NSYNC t-shirt because… well… I just had to. Let’s just say my old *NSYNC shirt was so worn it had holes.

Well.. as you can see we stayed pretty busy this week. I’m so excited for the girls to start school on Monday but SO not ready for the early mornings. I think for the first week we will all be pretty grumpy over here.
