busy week in may

We had a lot going on this week so I thought I’d highlight some of the fun things we did!

SUNDAY MAY 26TH

We went up to the cottage for the first time this year. It’s one of our favorite things to do in the summer! The water was still kind of cold but that didn’t stop the kids from jumping right in. McKenzie and Kasey went tubing, we went on a boat ride and we pretty much were all living our best life. I can’t wait for the rest of the summer!

MONDAY MAY 27TH

Cody got mandated at work today (meaning he had to work a 16hr shift, come home to sleep and go right back to work). I used this opportunity to catch up on laundry and start painting pegs for an upcoming craft show. My peg dolls are usually made to order so I have A LOT of painting to do until July so I can build up my stock. I also ran my fastest mile in YEARS today! I was feeling pretty accomplished at the end of the day.

TUESDAY MAY 28TH

It was back to school for the girls. They typically have Girls On The Run after school but today is their 4th grade musical. I told them they could skip so we could get ready for that. Their musical was patriotic themed and it was darling. Look how cute they are! 🙂 Afterwords, I had to book it to bootcamp class! Then I participated in my first Small Shop Collective Sale on FB. You should definitely join and check out all the awesome small shops every month! I was selling the Fruity Cutie set.

WEDNESDAY MAY 29TH

Harper woke up sick today and McKenzie stayed home from school with a headache. At about 2pm we realized that she was suppose to have her first talent show practice. I called the school and asked when they were practicing, the office said NOW. So, Mckenzie threw on the first clothes she could find and I rushed her up to the school. She made it in time! I was just sweating at the end of it, haha. Other than that I went to bootcamp and did nothing that exciting the rest of the day.

THURSDAY MAY 30TH

I filmed my July Plan with Me vlog, which you can watch here – CLICK. It was also the day of the talent show! McKenzie was so nervous and so was I.. seeing how she practiced this maybe twice before getting on stage. Her friends and her dressed up as old ladies and did the whip & nae nae. SOOO much talent, I tell ya. 😉 We really enjoyed seeing all the kids perform their talents. It was so cute!

FRIDAY MAY 31ST

We didn’t really have anything going on today but it was Cody’s first day off work. He had this entire weekend off! It’s nice when his days off actually fall on the weekend. Our basement recently flooded and we are re-doing the girls’ downstairs bathroom. We headed to Menards to get some ideas for all their new stuff. I’m leaning towards this vanity.. what do you all think?

SATURDAY JUNE 1ST

McKenzie and Kasey have been working hard for 10 weeks, practicing for their first 5K run. Today was the day! I’m so proud of them! Kasey finished in about 40 minutes and McKenzie finished in 55 minutes. They even said they want to do it again next year. I really liked the Girls on The Run program! Afterwards, we went to a park and played while Cody fished at the pond.

It was a fun week – especially for the girls who had so much stuff going on! They only have one more week of school and it’s summer time! I can see a lot of fun weeks in our future! 🙂
