I don’t know about you but I LOVE themed holiday bookshelves. I feel like most of our children’s books revolve around the holidays or the “time of year”. Children’s books can be expensive so thrift stores like Goodwill or Salvation Army are good places to look. Amazon too! I usually get one new book per season, so it doesn’t seem that expensive. I’m going to be sharing my favorite St. Patrick’s day books that we love.
our favorite christmas books
One of my favorite Christmas traditions is picking out a new Christmas book every year. Our collection is really growing because I’ve been doing it since McKenzie and Kasey were born (2008!). If you do the Elf on the Shelf tradition it would be a fun idea to have the elf bring a Christmas book on the first night every year! Over the years you will begin to cherish all of your books and they can be passed down to your kids and grandchildren. I LOVE special little things that make the holidays even more meaningful. I thought I’d share our absolute favorite ones to read every year.

First of all, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been following my family’s journey the past two years. Yesterday I celebrated my two year blog anniversary! It’s so crazy that I’ve actually stuck with this little hobby of mine for so long. I hope there are many many more years to come!
This Friday I’m sharing some of my favorites I’ve been loving lately. Ya’ll know the drill 😉
summer reading list
I’m back with another reading list! I’ve been so proud of myself because one of my goals of 2018 was to read at least one book per month. Well, I’ve been killing it! Making it a point to read every day has been a priority for me because its what I love doing and I’m trying to do more things for “me” lately. Of course I love reading to my littles too! Here is what we picked out of our home library to start reading this summer.
spring reading list
If there is one thing you need to know about my family, it’s that we are avid book lovers. We have started accumulating quite the little library in our office. I love going down there and planning what I’m going to read next. I usually take books upstairs to put into the kids rooms for them to read that month. I try to “theme” them as much as possible to holidays or whatever else is going on that time of year.
