Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a food filled holiday weekend because we sure did. I haven’t stuffed my face that hardcore since January, so I’m really paying for it today. I thought I would share our Easter Sunday with you all because it was such a great day.
First of all, having my husband home for a holiday is always a special treat because as you know, he has an unusual work schedule. Of course I love spending time with him but having help with the babies takes a lot of stress off myself! š We finally took an updated family picture! Out of the 100 shots we got, this was the best one. Scroll to the bottom of this post for some funny ones that didn’t make the cut!
The girls woke up and tore through their Easter baskets. Out of everything in there, their favorite item was a magazine! I’m not even kidding, they did every quiz, read every page, showed me every picture of those magazines ALL day. They even filled out the address cards, hoping I will get them a subscription. Haha! They got to open Harper and Mason’s easter baskets too.
I hosted Easter “lunch” (we ate around 1PM) at my house. We had a potluck style lunch and everyone brought some yummy stuff. Did I mention I ate my weight in food?? My mom brought a spicy sausage queso dip that was seriously amazing! I honestly had three bowls of the stuff. I asked her for the recipe so I could share it on here and it’s super easy to make.
SPICY SAUSAGE DIP
1- Bob Evans Zesty Sausage Roll (cooked)
1- box of cream cheese
1- large can of Rotel
*Heat all ingredients in a crock pot until the cream cheese is melted.
That’s it! Easy dish to pass for your next potluck!
The kids did an Easter egg hunt in my basement since it was wet outside. The eggs were stuffed with cash instead of candy so the pressure was really on. The adults got to play “guess the # of items” in three different containers for cash prizes. It was fun… probably because I was one of the winners. š
It was nice to relax and spend time with my family. This is a picture of Harper and her GREAT grandma. Both looking pretty in pink!
After everyone left, we spent some time outside and enjoyed the warm weather. Then we went to bed early and passed out in a food coma. Seriously.
I hope your Easter Day was just as special as ours was. Now I’m mentally prepared to start packing for our Disney trip which is in FIVE days!
Enjoy some funny pictures…
The dip recipe sounds good! We use that same recipe only with a block of Velveeta instead of the cream cheese, but now I have to try it with cream cheese! š Love that last pic of Harper…. I feel like she wants out š¬
It was seriously so good and addicting!
She takes after her dad when it comes to picture taking. They aren’t very photogenic š
