Time for one of my favorite blogs posts of every year! 2020 was a hard year for so many people. We had a lot of hard moments within my family as well. I can’t help but reflect on that positives that this year has brought us though. Here’s a little recap…
2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF MY ETSY SHOP | JANUARY
This was a HUGE year in my peg doll business. I was steadily busy the entire year and painted THOUSANDS of peg dolls. I received all 5 star reviews from customers and for a little shop like mine…that is huge. I was able to provide the extra income to my family, all while staying home. Overall, I feel very proud and accomplished when it comes to this business of mine. Thank you for all the support.

SAMANTHA’S RECOVERY | FEBRUARY
My sister’s accident was the biggest punch to the gut this year. This is definitely not one of my “best” moments from 2020 but her SURVIVING what happened definitely was. She was inches from death and fought her way back to us. The support from family and friends was amazing and it made me believe in the power of prayer. I can’t believe how far she has already come within 11 months.

MY 30TH BIRTHDAY WEEK | JUNE
I had the best week long celebration of my birthday! I wrote a whole blog post about the week that you can read – HERE! It was nice to have a somewhat normal week in the middle of a pandemic.
FINISHED WORK OUT PROGRAM | SEPTEMBER
Cody and I started a 12 week work out program this year. I’ve never fully stuck with anything that long so I was extremely proud of both us. I feel better, stronger and healthier both mentally and physically. I looked forward to doing our daily workout together. We are going to re-start it again this year and I can’t wait!
Here’s a little before/after from my wedding day to this summer. I was swimming in my dress and it was a great feeling! Also, Harper is wearing the flower girl dress that that girls wore. Time is a thief!
STARTING BIG SCHOOL YEARS! | SEPTEMBER
McKenzie and Kasey had their first day of middle school! Such a scary year if you ask me with all the changes – on top of the COVID restrictions. They continue to do amazing in school!
Harper and Mason started preschool! This was kind of a last minute decision for us because we didn’t want them to have to wear masks all day. I’m so glad we chose to send them though because they LOVE IT! Harper has broken out of her shell so much and Mason definitely needed that social interaction.
I am also gettin alone time during the day to paint and just catch my breath. It’s something I didn’t know I needed.
DISNEY WORLD!!! | OCTOBER
Obviously the biggest highlight of the year.. our Disney trip! I won’t go into much detail since I did blog and vlog it – check them out on my channels. We needed this magic in 2020!
THE GIRLS 12TH BIRTHDAY | DECEMBER
We don’t typically do themed parties for the girls anymore but they have been loving Vampire Diaries all year. I thought it would be a fun theme! They had two friends spend the night and just a few family members come since COVID was spiking back up. I think it will be a party they always remember though!

NEW YEARS EVE PARTY | DECEMBER
I have to add this party that happened yesterday! This was one of the first nights we didn’t have our kids (for a whole year!!). It was also one of the first times Harper and Mason slept somewhere other than our house! We had a pajama party with our friends and then slept in until 11pm!! That’s unheard of these days. It was the best way to end this year.
FAMILY TIME | ALL YEAR
One of the best things about 2020 was all family time we got to spend together. Cody is an essential worker so he was never really off work, but having the kids home from school with the slowed down lifestyle was amazing. We spent a ton of time playing games, exploring trails, going to the zoo, the beach… it was truly the best. We also spent a lot of holiday’s with just our little family and it was so nice.
We got to see my brother and his family a lot more than a usual year. Sadly the circumstances weren’t always the greatest but at least we got to be together.
To say I’ve been ready for 2021 is an understatement. I’m soooo ready for the fresh start. I have hopes that life will return to “normal” soon! Cheers friends!
