Yay! It’s time for one of my favorite blog posts of the year (even though I’ve probably posted 3 blogs in 2021)! I can’t say 2021 was a favorite of mine but we still had a ton of fun as a family! I love taking the time to reflect on all the good that has happened in the year… from big trips down to the little family moments.
HARPER STARTS CHEER | FEBRUARY
Watching my kids participate in sports is one of my favorite things. This year was a GREAT (but busy) sports year for us!
GETTING TATTOOS | FEBRUARY
I’ve been wanting the Harry Potter stars on my wrist for so long and I finally did it. Cody got another HP tattoo and my name!
TRIP TO THE SMOKY MOUNTAINS | APRIL
Probably my favorite thing of all 2021 was our family trip to Tennessee. Oh my lord, was this trip fun! I wrote a whole blog post about it – read it here! I cannot wait to be back at that cabin in the mountains.
MASON STARTS T-BALL | APRIL
He absolutely hated it but he stuck it out and looked adorable! Ugh, I could eat him.
HARPER’S CHEER COMPETITION | JUNE
We traveled across the state to Novi, MI. Cody and I took Harper (because COVID restricted the number of people who could attend) and it was some special one on one time with her. My mom, sister and niece were there too! We stayed over night at a hotel, went to a huge mall and then watched her team become STATE CHAMPS!! It was the cutest ever and Harper loved every minute of it.
HARPER AND MASON’S BIRTHDAY SHOOT | JUNE
was another of my favorite memories. Not only did we get some really cute pictures, it turned into quite the adventure. We were trying to get beach photos and went to a location that had about a two mile walk UP STAIRS to get to the secluded beach. By the time we got there, all the kids were dying to get into the water. Of course we didn’t have bathing suits, so they all jumped in in their clothes. They rode the waves while Cody and I sat and watched in the sand. Then we had to make the two mile hike back to the car in soaking wet clothes.
MONTH LONG SOCIAL MEDIA BREAK | JULY
During July, I put down my phone and we checked LOTS of things off our family summer bucket list. I documented little clips along the way and turned it into a video. It’s probably my favorite Youtube video I ever posted. Watch it – HERE. We spent lots of time at the cottage, the beach, biking, taking trail walks, the zoo, the movies, Michigan Adventures.. and more! I’m amazed at all the stuff we packed into one month.
TRIP TO FRANKENMUTH | AUGUST
We took a day trip to Frankenmuth and did some school clothes shopping. Of course we had to stop to the Christmas store Bronner’s and get some chicken dinner at Zehnder’s. The kids had a lot of fun that day!
VACATION TO UNIVERSAL ORLANDO | SEPTEMBER
Another amazing trip this year! This time it was just for Cody and myself. This is our favorite place EVER and we always have the best time. Of course we love to go during Halloween Horror Nights. Some things that I will never forget from this trip.. riding Hagrids and VelociCoaster for the first time. Hands down, the COOLEST rides on the planet. Getting stuck in a rain storm during the castle light show, which led to RUNNING through the parks absolutely drenched. Sitting at the hotel lobby bar getting handed the STRONGEST (but nastiest) drinks which turned into getting smashed and going into the clown blender in front of the tour group. All that might not sound fun to most, but they are memories I never want to forget! 🙂

MASON STARTS FLAG FOOTBALL | SEPTEMBER
This was another first for Mason. He loved it so much more than Tball. We loved watching too!
MCKENZIE AND KASEY’S ENTIRE VOLLEYBALL SEASON | SEPTEMBER
I absolutely LOVED watching volleyball. This was the first “real” sport the girls ever participated in. They had no experience at all and were a little nervous to start. It was amazing watching them learn and grow their skills throughout the season. They even made it to the second round of their tournament which felt like such an accomplishment. I hope they continue with volleyball next year too!
LIONS GAME | OCTOBER
Another day date with Cody that was so fun! We went to the Lions Game in Detroit. Even though they lost (per usual) we managed to have the best time!
That wraps up my favorite moments of the year! I have been feeling super inspired lately to get back into blogging, so maybe I will do just that in 2022? I’ve also decided to do another social media break during January to get my house.. my work.. my life.. my brain.. just EVERYTHING, back in order. The start of the year is a good time to do all that. See ya in 2022!!
