Every year I’ve been trying to remember to take my own photos for the kids around their birthdays. This way I save money on a photographer! For their four year old photos, we walked around our little town and snapped some shots. I thought they turned out super cute!
10 years later…
Do you and your spouse celebrate your “date-iversary”? We don’t typically buy gifts or do anything over the top for it but we do like to acknowledge it. A “date-iversary” is the day you and your significant other started dating. Today is the day Cody and I started dating TEN YEARS AGO.
We will be celebrating our five year wedding anniversary this year too but how could we not celebrate the fact that we’ve been through 10 years of our life together!?

I CANNOT believe that I’ve been painting peg dolls for a full year! This hobby quickly turned into something bigger than I ever imagined it would be. I started posting pictures of the ones I made for my own kids and then the messages from other people came rolling in. Therefore, I decided to open an Etsy shop! I honestly didn’t know how well I’d do but I thought, hey, if I could get a couple orders a month that would be cool and it would give me something to do.
first day of 5th grade
Every year sending them off to school gets a little easier. However, this is their last year in elementary! Next year they are big old middle schoolers!! Time flies! I will be cherishing all the little things they won’t be doing anymore, like passing out valentine’s or walking in the halloween parade at school! *INSERT MAMA TEARS HERE*
They had a summer packed full of fun things but I think they are ready I’m ready for a more structured schedule again. I hate the early mornings but I love the early nights and getting back into a routine.
harper and mason are three
Good LAWD, I can’t believe I just typed out that title. THREE!?! Their lives have flown right past me. I think that’s a common response from most parents though – the days are long but the years are short. There are no truer words!
Since I’m cheap, I like to take their milestone pictures myself. I do think I’m getting better at it as the years go on, for someone who has ZERO photography training anyways.
I packed them up and headed to a nearby park. We hiked through some wilderness and had to use a ton of bug spray to get these but it was so worth it! They were the sweetest little angels and did every pose I told them too … sike. We did end up with a few good shots though.
