These are some of my favorite blog posts to write! I love reflecting on the year and creating a little highlight reel. 2019 was a good year! We had so many family getaways, Cody and I had lots of alone time and we crossed something off our bucket list. Not pictured in this blog is the intense amount of healing we through as a couple. I think if I could put a word on this year, it would definitely be healing. I hope that 2020 has more healing in store for us but also lots and lots of happiness.
how I’ve dealt with PTSD
As many of you already know, or if you’re seeing my blog for the first time… 2018 was a really shit year for me. I struggled with my mental health and towards the end of the year, I found something out that was a HUGE life changing moment for me. Since that moment on Sept 18th, 2018 at 9:30 in the morning (Yep. I know the time because its so engraved in my mind) I have struggled with PTSD in a major way. As time moves forward, it gets easier but it’s still such an ever present force in my life that I deal with EVERY DAY.
getting back into the school routine with natrol
This post is sponsored by Natrol but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.
After spending months doing whatever the heck we want, it’s pretty hard getting back into the school routine. McKenzie and Kasey will be going into 5th grade. This means they’re at the age where going to school isn’t “fun” anymore. They HATE early mornings and the older they get, the MOODIER they get!! Since school doesn’t start for a couple more weeks, I wanted to get them back into school habits early. I’m going to share some tips on getting your kiddos back in a good nighttime routine.
dating my husband | july
Wow, this month flew right by us. Once again we were coming to the end of the month and realized we needed to do date night. DON’T SKIP IT PEOPLE!
Since we were so last minute, babysitters were scarce – which means time to break out our “in-home” date night! It was a good kick-off to Cody’s vacation week!
4 ways to keep your kids responsible over summer vacation
I will be the first to admit that I have never made my children do chores. I’m the type of mom who would rather do it myself because it will get done the “right” way. Even my husband does minimal cleaning because I’m so picky. However, this year I decided to change all that. Housework was starting to get overwhelming for me because the toddlers are at the age where they are DESTROYING our house. I feel like cleaning is a waste of time because it stays clean for exactly 4 hours. I couldn’t keep up. Time to enlist the soldiers..
